Summer with WETA-PBS and Caltech is producing an hour-long special feature HD documentary, Powering the Planet that explores new sources of energy for an ambitious, prosperous century. View Powering the Planet promo clip.

With Staniski Media, Jonathan is producing a documentary story about the innovative design and construction of Virginia Tech’s “Solar House of the Future” for Dept of Energy’s 2009 Solar Decathlon competition. Tech’s 2005 Solar House won many design awards and was featured on ABC, PBS, HGTV and in magazines including Popular Mechanics and Dwell.

2008 4th Quarter
TREEMAN: Search for the Cure is an hour-long documentary reversioned by Summer for Discovery Health and TLC. A dramatic true story of Dede bin Ateng, Indonesian fisherman and father, whose body and life are devastated by mysterious branch-like wart growths encasing his hands and feet. American dermatologist, Anthony Gaspari searches for a cure and offers hope and treatment. Premiered on Discovery Health Sunday, Oct 5 and on TLC Sunday, Oct 19.

2008 3rd Quarter
When Beat Pirate Films came to town in May / June 2008 to produce their third feature film, Kalamity, they asked Jonathan to join the crew as line producer. A psychological thriller staring Nick Stahl, Jonathan Jackson and Alona Tal, the show debuts in 2009 in theaters and on DVD at Blockbusters.

For University of Michigan, Summer produced a video featuring the amazing development and application of Bendable Concrete with material scientist Dr. Victor Li and his team of graduate research students. Filmed at experimental sites in Tokyo, Japan and Ann Arbor, Michigan, bendable concrete is a material of the future that just might save roads, bridges and high-rises from seismic devastation.

With National Science Foundation, Summer produced a television story about Howard University’s innovative Middle School of Mathematics and Science (MS)², a public charter school that’s committed to academic excellence with focus on science and math.
